My Story

Christopher (Van D Art), also known as 'Fin' grew up in the suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand.
He is an acrylic painter and Artist specialising in painting world landscapes, animals of the world, and political/ world history concepts. He describes his style as precise, detailed, and vibrant. He uses the process of painting layer upon layer, and finishing off with attention to detail.
He started painting many years ago whilst living in the USA. He then moved to Broome, North Western Australia, and became inspired by the rugged landscape. He kept on painting there. He studied art with TAFEWA, and worked with prominent artists and mentors. He also experimented with digital art. Soon after study he became an Art tutor, and taught at Broome Regional Prison for 3-4 years. In Broome he became involved in television and film as a Scenic Artist/ Set Painter. He met many people in the industry, and it gave him more scope of experience as an artist. He moved to Northern NSW roughly 10 years ago, and in the last few years has been producing a new series of paintings.
Finally, he paints to enhance his style, spirit, and well being, and to share his passion for visual experience.
